Stuck on something?
Step-by-step help for common tasks is below. If you can’t find what you need, write to me; I build Nefo and I read every email myself.
How do I…
Restore purchases
To unlock Nefo Plus on a new iPhone or after reinstalling the app:
- In Nefo, open the Plus screen by tapping the Nefo Plus card in the Profile tab or any locked feature.
- Tap Restore purchases at the bottom of the screen.
Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so make sure you’re signed in with the one you used to buy.
Cancel a subscription
- On your iPhone, open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Nefo Plus.
- Choose Cancel Subscription.
A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. After cancelling, Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your subscription. Lifetime isn’t a subscription, so there’s nothing to cancel. For refunds, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
How subscriptions work
Nefo’s core features are free; Nefo Plus is an optional purchase that comes in three forms:
- Yearly subscription: starts with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly price is charged when the trial ends.
- Monthly subscription: renews every month.
- Lifetime: a one-time payment. It’s not a subscription and doesn’t renew; Plus features stay unlocked on the Apple Account you bought it with for as long as the app is offered.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. Current prices are shown in the App Store before you buy and may vary by country or region.
All payments are collected by Apple, so Apple also handles refund requests; as the developer, I can’t issue refunds directly. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
Add a widget
Home Screen (free)
- Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen.
- Tap Edit in the top-left corner, then Add Widget.
- Choose Nefo, pick the small or medium size and tap Add Widget.
Lock Screen (Nefo Plus)
- Unlock with Face ID or Touch ID but stay on the Lock Screen, then touch and hold it.
- Tap Customize, then the Lock Screen.
- Tap the widget area and add Nefo.
Turn on Live Activities
To see the five-minute craving timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island:
- On your iPhone, go to Settings › Nefo and turn on Live Activities.
- In Nefo, turn on Breathing break on the Lock Screen in the Profile tab.
- Tap Breathe to start a break. The timer appears on the Lock Screen.
On iPhones without a Dynamic Island, the timer shows on the Lock Screen only.
Change my quit date
- In the Profile tab, tap Quit time.
- Pick the day and time of your last cigarette.
Your counter, savings and health milestones are recalculated from the new date. Change the amount and price under My habit.
Reset after a slip
- On the Today screen, tap I had one and choose how many.
- Choose Keep my counter to have your savings and cigarettes not smoked adjusted.
- Or choose Reset the counter for a fresh start.
Your previous streak isn’t lost; it stays in your profile.
Delete my data
Everything in Nefo is stored only on your device. To delete all of it, touch and hold the Nefo icon on your Home Screen, choose Delete App and confirm.
Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a Nefo Plus subscription. See the privacy policy for details.
Fix missing notifications
- On your iPhone, go to Settings › Notifications › Nefo and turn on Allow Notifications.
- In Nefo, check Milestone notifications and Evening check-in in the Profile tab.
- If a Focus (Do Not Disturb, Sleep and so on) is on, add Nefo to its allowed apps.
Does Nefo give medical advice?
No. Nefo is a motivation and tracking app. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The health milestones are based on general information published by the WHO and the NHS; timings vary from person to person.
If you use medication or nicotine replacement therapy, are pregnant, or have a heart, lung or mental health condition, talk to your doctor while you quit. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
