Open source

My own project and my merged contributions.

Framelane, my own open-source project, and my merged contributions to large open-source projects. All of the code is on GitHub for anyone to read.

My own project

Framelane MIT licensed, self-hosted.

A self-hosted web app for preparing App Store screenshots and store text in one place.

Framelane screenshot editor: templates on the left, a screenshot in an iPhone frame in the middle, caption and background settings on the right
Framelane store text screen: keywords, character counter and a product page previewFramelane publish screen: connecting App Store Connect
Daybook in the images is a made-up demo app used to present the project.
The need
I built it while preparing my own iOS apps for release. Designing screenshots for every language, fitting store text into the App Store character limits and moving it all into App Store Connect were separate jobs. Framelane brings them into one tool; it is open source under the MIT license.
What I built
  • Screenshot editor: four templates, device frames drawn in code, captions per language and export at the exact sizes the App Store asks for.
  • Store text: fields per language, App Store character limits and a keyword helper.
  • Import and export of fastlane metadata folders and EAS store.config.json.
  • Publishing text and screenshots to App Store Connect. Before sending, it shows what will change field by field; nothing is submitted for review.
  • Preview, export and the Node side share one Canvas 2D renderer. There is a Docker image on GHCR for amd64 and arm64; Playwright end-to-end tests run against a fake App Store Connect API in GitHub Actions.

In the demo every visitor works in their own copy; nobody else sees your changes, and they are removed 7 days after your last visit. The App Store Connect connection is turned off in the demo.
