Who is responsible?
Nefo is developed and published by Metehan Biçer, an independent developer. “I” in this policy refers to the developer. For any privacy question, write to metehanbicer006@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
For Nefo to work, the following is kept only on your iPhone, in the app’s own local storage:
- Your quit date and time, previous attempts and slips.
- Your habit: the product you’re quitting, how much you used per day or week, price, pack size and currency.
- Your reasons for quitting.
- Your craving entries: time, intensity, trigger, how it ended and any notes you add.
- Your savings goals and quit plan.
- Your settings: lung theme, notification and haptics preferences.
Some of this, such as your smoking habit and craving notes, can count as health-related information. That’s why it never leaves your device: Nefo doesn’t send it to any server, and it never reaches me or any third party.
Accounts
Nefo has no account, sign-up or login. You don’t need to give your name, email address or phone number to use it.
Analytics, ads and tracking
Nefo has no analytics, no ads and no advertising identifier (IDFA). The app contains no third-party software development kits (SDKs) that collect usage data. Nefo doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so it never asks for tracking permission.
Notifications
Milestone notifications and the evening check-in are local notifications, scheduled by the app directly on your iPhone. No push server is used and the content of notifications is never sent anywhere. Notifications are optional; turn them off in Nefo’s Profile tab or in your iPhone’s Settings app.
Widgets and Live Activities
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and the Live Activity for craving breaks (the timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island), read what they show from a shared app area on your device (an App Group). This sharing happens only between Nefo and its own widgets, inside your device.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Nefo Plus is purchased through Apple’s App Store. Your payment details stay with Apple and never reach Nefo.
To check whether your subscription or lifetime purchase is active, Nefo uses RevenueCat, a service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase records (such as which plan you bought and when, trial and subscription status, price and currency). Your name, email address and quit data are not sent to RevenueCat. As with any internet connection, RevenueCat may see technical details such as your IP address while connecting.
RevenueCat processes this information under its own privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy). RevenueCat is based in the United States, so purchase records may be processed outside your country. If you don’t buy Plus, Nefo shares no purchase records with RevenueCat.
Deleting your data
Because all your data is on your device, you’re fully in control. When you delete Nefo from your iPhone, your quit data, craving entries and settings are permanently deleted. Your iPhone backups may include app data, depending on your Apple backup settings.
Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a Nefo Plus subscription. You can cancel it in your App Store account settings.
Children
Nefo is not directed at children under 13. It doesn’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and it serves its fonts itself, so opening a page sends no requests to other companies. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process technical connection details such as your IP address to deliver pages securely. I don’t use these details for analytics or advertising.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you’re in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because Nefo keeps your quit data on your device, I don’t hold it; you can remove it at any time by deleting the app. The anonymous purchase records are processed to verify your purchase, which is necessary to perform our contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). To exercise your rights, write to metehanbicer006@gmail.com; I’ll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If I update this policy, I’ll publish the changes on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, I’ll also point it out in the app or on this website.
