Who is responsible?
Kertik is developed and published by Metehan Biçer, an independent developer based in Türkiye. “I” in this policy means the developer. For any privacy question, write to metehanbicer006@gmail.com.
What is stored on your device
To work, Kertik keeps the following only on your iPhone, in the app’s own local storage:
- Your habits: name, icon, colour, type (do, count, quit), plan, daily goal or limit, reminder time and, if you linked one, the Apple Health goal.
- Your marks: which habit you completed on which day, or how many times you counted it.
- Notes you add to days.
- Your settings: haptics, board sound, first day of the week, reminders, and whether Kertik Pro is active.
This information does not leave your device: Kertik sends none of it to any server, and it never reaches me or any third party.
No account
Kertik has no accounts, no sign-up and no sign-in. You don’t need to give your name, email address or phone number to use the app.
Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional and part of Kertik Pro. If you connect it, you grant access on iOS’s own permission screen. Kertik asks for read access only and never writes anything to Health.
- What is read: step count, exercise minutes, mindful minutes and sleep analysis (time asleep). It is used only when you link a habit to one of these.
- How it is used: when Kertik opens and while it stays open, it works out the day’s total (last night, for sleep) on your iPhone and compares it with the goal you set. If you reached it, Kertik marks that habit for the day. The mark is the only thing kept; the health values themselves are not stored.
- Where it goes: nowhere. Health data is never sent anywhere, stored in iCloud, included in backups or exported files, used for ads or analytics, or shared with anyone.
You can withdraw access at any time on your iPhone under Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › Kertik.
Analytics, ads and tracking
Kertik contains no analytics, no ads and no advertising identifier (IDFA). There are no third-party software development kits (SDKs) in the app that collect usage data. Kertik does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so it never asks for tracking permission.
Backups and exports
When you make a backup, Kertik creates a JSON file with your habits, marks and notes. Spreadsheet export (CSV, Kertik Pro) creates a table with columns such as date, habit, value and note. You decide where to save the file and who to share it with in iOS’s share sheet; for example, you can save it to iCloud Drive with the Files app.
- These files can contain all of your habits and notes. When you save them to iCloud Drive or another service, that service’s terms apply.
- Apple Health data is never included in backups or exported files.
- Kertik never sends these files anywhere on its own, and I don’t receive a copy.
Notifications
Habit reminders and the evening reminder are local notifications: Kertik schedules them directly on your iPhone. No push notification server is used, and notification content is not sent anywhere. You can turn notifications off in Kertik’s settings or in your iPhone’s Settings app.
Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read what they show from a shared app space on your device (an App Group). When you tap a circle on the Home Screen widget, the mark is written to that space, again inside your device. This sharing happens only between Kertik and its own widgets.
The Home Screen widget shows today’s habits; Lock Screen widgets show today’s progress. Lock Screen widgets are visible while your phone is locked; if you don’t want that, don’t add them, or remove them.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Kertik Pro is bought through Apple’s App Store. Your payment details stay with Apple and never reach Kertik.
To check whether Kertik Pro is active, Kertik uses the RevenueCat service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase records (such as which plan you bought and when, and trial and subscription status); these are used only to check your subscription status. Technical details needed for the service to work, such as the app version and iOS version, may also be sent. Your habits, marks, notes and Health data are never sent to RevenueCat. As with any internet connection, RevenueCat can see technical details such as your IP address while connecting.
RevenueCat processes this information under its own privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy. RevenueCat is based in the United States; this information may be processed on servers outside your country.
Deleting your data
All of your records are on your device, so you are fully in control.
- Delete a single habit, with its marks and notes, with Delete habit on its edit screen.
- To delete everything, tap Settings › Data › Erase all data in Kertik.
- Deleting Kertik from your iPhone also permanently removes all of its data.
- Backup and export files you saved stay where you saved them; delete them separately. Your iPhone backups may include app data, depending on your Apple backup settings.
- Kertik never writes to Health, so there is no Kertik data to delete in the Health app.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a Kertik Pro subscription; you can cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
Children
Kertik does not collect personal data from anyone, children included.
This website
This site uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools, and it serves its own fonts, so opening a page sends no requests to other companies. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process technical connection data such as IP addresses to deliver pages securely. I don’t use this data for analytics or advertising.
Your rights under KVKK (Türkiye)
Under Article 11 of Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed and to request information if it is; to learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used for that purpose; to know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred; to ask for incomplete or incorrect data to be corrected and for data to be deleted; to ask for these actions to be notified to those third parties; to object to a result against you arising from analysis by automated systems; and to claim compensation if you suffer damage from unlawful processing.
Because Kertik never takes your habits, marks, notes or Health data off your device, I don’t hold them; you can remove them at any time in the app or by deleting it. Anonymous purchase records for Kertik Pro are processed to verify your purchase, that is, to perform our contract, and are transferred to RevenueCat abroad for that purpose. Send any request about your rights to metehanbicer006@gmail.com; I will reply within 30 days at the latest.
If you are in the EU or UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to complain to the data protection authority where you live. Anonymous purchase records are processed because this is necessary to perform our contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). You can send requests to the same email address.
Changes
If I update this policy, I will publish the changes on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, I will also point it out in the app or on this site.
