Who is responsible?
Gritcard is developed and published by Metehan Biçer, an independent developer. “I” in this policy refers to the developer. For any privacy question, write to metehanbicer006@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
For Gritcard to work, the following is kept only on your iPhone, in the app’s own local storage:
- The name on your card, and the starting stats and focus stat that come from your setup answers.
- Your stats, your OVR and a day-by-day stat history for the last four months.
- Which tasks you finished on which day, your streak and your form card.
- Your habits: their names, details and the stats they train.
- Your settings: card foil, haptics and reminder preferences, and whether Gritcard Pro is active.
This information never leaves your device: Gritcard doesn’t send it to any server, and it never reaches me or any third party.
Accounts
Gritcard has no account, sign-up or login. You don’t need to give your email address or phone number to use it. You choose the name on your card, and it stays on your device too.
Analytics, ads and tracking
Gritcard has no analytics, no ads and no advertising identifier (IDFA). The app contains no third-party software development kits (SDKs) that collect usage data. Gritcard doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so it never asks for tracking permission.
Apple Health
Connecting Apple Health is optional and part of Gritcard Pro. If you connect it, Gritcard asks for read access only and reads step count, sleep analysis and workouts. This data is read on your device and used only to tell whether the day’s health tasks (such as 8,000 steps, 7 hours of sleep or a 30-minute workout) are done.
- The step, sleep and workout values it reads aren’t stored; Gritcard only records which task was completed.
- Gritcard never writes any data to the Health app.
- Your Apple Health data is never sent to any server, to me, to RevenueCat or to any other third party, and it’s never used for advertising or marketing.
You can change the permissions at any time: in the Health app, tap your profile picture, go to Apps under Privacy and select Gritcard.
Motion sensors
To let the light slide across your card when you tilt your phone, Gritcard uses your device’s motion sensors. This data is used only for the light effect on screen at that moment; it isn’t stored and is never sent anywhere.
Notifications
The evening reminder is a local notification, scheduled by the app directly on your iPhone. No push server is used and the content of notifications is never sent anywhere. The reminder is optional; turn it off in Gritcard’s settings or in your iPhone’s Settings app.
Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read the card and tasks they show from a shared app area on your device (an App Group). This sharing happens only between Gritcard and its own widgets, inside your device.
Purchases and RevenueCat
Gritcard Pro is purchased through Apple’s App Store. Your payment details stay with Apple and never reach Gritcard.
To check whether Gritcard Pro is active and to show current prices, Gritcard uses RevenueCat, a service provided by RevenueCat, Inc. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous app user ID, your App Store purchase records (such as which plan you bought and when, trial and subscription status, price and currency) and the technical details the service needs, such as the app version, iOS version and App Store country. The name on your card, your stats, your tasks and your Apple Health data are not sent to RevenueCat. As with any internet connection, RevenueCat may see technical details such as your IP address while connecting.
RevenueCat processes this information under its own privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy. RevenueCat is based in the United States, so this information may be processed outside your country.
Deleting your data
Because all your data is on your device, you’re fully in control. When you delete Gritcard from your iPhone, your card, history, habits and settings are permanently deleted. Your iPhone backups may include app data, depending on your Apple backup settings.
Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a Gritcard Pro subscription. You can cancel it in your App Store account settings.
Children
Gritcard is not directed at children under 13. It doesn’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and it serves its fonts itself, so opening a page sends no requests to other companies. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process technical connection details such as your IP address to deliver pages securely. I don’t use these details for analytics or advertising.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you’re in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Because Gritcard keeps your card, tasks and Apple Health data on your device, I don’t hold them; you can remove them at any time by deleting the app. The anonymous purchase records are processed to verify your purchase, which is necessary to perform our contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). To exercise your rights, write to metehanbicer006@gmail.com; I’ll reply within 30 days.
If you are in Türkiye (KVKK)
Under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed and to request information about it, to learn the purpose of processing and the third parties it’s transferred to in Türkiye or abroad, to ask for it to be corrected or erased, to object to a result against you that comes from automated analysis, and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing. The anonymous purchase records are processed to perform our contract and are transferred to RevenueCat abroad for that purpose. Send requests to the same email address.
Changes
If I update this policy, I’ll publish the changes on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, I’ll also point it out in the app or on this website.
